Job summary

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network is seeking a Tissue Recovery Technician to recover donor tissue using surgical instruments, maintain aseptic technique, and support the donation process with compassion and professionalism.

The role requires EMT or related training or a biology lab background, with willingness to work varied shifts in Illinois and Indiana service areas. Competitive benefits accompany full-time employment.

Qualifications

• Minimum education and training as listed: EMT-P/EMT-B/CST/ORT or HS diploma with tissue banking exp.
• Bachelor’s in Biology or related with anatomy lab experience; others considered case-by-case.

Responsibilities

• Advance Gift of Hope's mission and core values while adhering to policies.
• Use surgical instruments to recover authorized donor tissue.
• Participate in tissue recovery processes including loading equipment and decontaminating instruments.
• Prepare and drape donors; culture, package, and ship tissue as needed.
• Assist with post-mortem care and documentation; verify donor info and tissue authorization.
• Act as a preceptor to new employees and attend scheduled trainings.
