Job summary

Gift of Life Donor Program in the Philadelphia area is seeking a Tissue Recovery Specialist/Preservationist with a background in surgical technology or EMT. The role involves learning tissue procurement procedures, assisting surgeons, and transporting organs to destination hospitals.

Applicants should have 3+ years of OR experience, knowledge of aseptic techniques, anatomy, and physiology, and live within 40 minutes of our office. A valid driver’s license and insurable vehicle are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Operating Room experience preferred.
• Knowledge of surgical aseptic techniques, anatomy, and physiology.
• Strong interpersonal skills for teamwork and collaboration.
• Excellent documentation practices.
• Live within 40 minutes of Philadelphia office; valid driver's license and insurable vehicle.

Responsibilities

• Perform tissue recoveries adhering to established protocols and procedures.
• Crosstrain to eye banking and perfusion.
• Assist transplant surgeons during procedures and package organs for transport.
• Transport surgical recovery teams to donor hospitals.
• Travel as needed to donor hospitals nationwide and/or Canada.
• Support case logistics and ensure OR is returned to pre-case condition.
