Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a highly skilled team member to support organ, tissue, and eye recovery operations at Carolinas Medical Center - Lifeshare. You will coordinate preservation and transportation of donated organs while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and hospital policies.

The role requires an associates degree or transplant-related certifications, with preferred BS in Health Science and related credentials.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or CTP/CTBS certification required.
• Bachelor of Science in Health Science preferred.
• Certified Surgical Technician, EMT, CTP, CTBS, Eye Bank Technician, RN or LPN preferred.
• Knowledge of anatomy and surgical techniques within six months of employment.

Responsibilities

• Performs aseptic recovery of tissue including eyes, bones, ligaments, and heart valves.
• Coordinates recovery, preservation and transportation of donated organs.
• Performs organ preservation using machines and cannulates organs.
• Performs donor evaluations and coordinates logistics for recovery teams.
• Ensures all recovered organs and tissues are packaged per policy and meet regulatory requirements.
• Performs decontamination and sterilization of LifeShare instruments.
