Job summary

Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network is seeking a Tissue Recovery Technician to recover tissues from deceased donors, adhering to aseptic methods and safety protocols.

You will participate in all phases of tissue recovery, load equipment, prep donors, package tissue, and support post-mortem care with dignity and respect. This role requires an EMT or biology background and offers comprehensive benefits and a stable schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience maintaining aseptic technique.
• Experience using surgical instruments such as scalpels and suture needles.
• Ability to recover all donor tissues proficiently once trained.
• History of high-quality tissue procurement with low contamination.
• Potential transition to Tissue Recovery Coordinator within 1 year.
• Basic computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Advance Gift of Hope's mission and core values through compassionate service.
• Use surgical instruments to recover authorized donor tissue.
• Support tissue recovery tasks: load equipment, decontaminate instruments, transport donor, prep and drape donor.
• Precept new employees and participate in staff trainings.
• Attend organizational events outside regular hours.
• Other duties as assigned.
