Job summary

Valmet is seeking a Site Start-Up Coordinator to apply technical and organizational expertise during the Site Phase of Tissue Machine projects. You will verify systems per drawings and documentation, represent Valmet to the client, and plan check-out activities and ECOs at assembly-hall check-out.

Travel may exceed 50%. The role requires a mechanical/technical background, project management experience, and US work authorization with a valid passport.

Qualifications

• Higher education degree in Mechanical, Technical, Pulp and Paper, or a closely related field is required.
• Preferred 2-year minimum experience with project start-up engineering or leading projects.
• Industry-related Project Management experience is essential.
• Travel required, potentially more than 50%.
• Must be living and authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid US Passport required.
• No domestic or international relocation or sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Apply technical and organizational expertise during the Site Phase of Valmet Tissue Machine projects.
• Check out, verify, and start up systems according to drawings, instructions, and technical documentation.
• Represent Valmet toward the client.
• Plan project check-out activities and schedules.
• Establish ECOs and participate in assembly-hall check-out.
• Book and send necessary tools and equipment to the site.
• Support project managers on technical matters during delivery.
• Act as Valmet Start-Up Coordinator when a Commissioning Coordinator is unavailable or not contracted.
• Carry out and coordinate project check-out activities.
• Report progress, resource usage, deviations, and punch-list follow-up.
• Support the Reference Manager during the guarantee phase.
• Support the scope of delivery after takeover until handover to the Service Organization.
• Carry out performance guarantee trials at customer sites when assigned.
