Job summary

United Therapeutics Corporation is seeking a Scientist, Tissue Engineering in the Organ Manufacturing Group (OMG) to advance living 3D printed lung scaffolds within a multidisciplinary team. You will design and execute in vitro experiments with adult and iPSC-derived lung cells, develop culture systems, and analyze tissue formation, while collaborating with lead scientists and external partners.

This onsite role in Manchester, NH supports IP work, regulatory filings, and publications as part of

Qualifications

  • PhD in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, Tissue engineering, Bioengineering (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of research in pulmonary/endothelial biology, iPSC-derived lineages, tissue engineering.
  • 2+ years of industry and/or postdoctoral training.
  • Strong imaging experience (e.g., microscopy, confocal).
  • Experience with immunocytochemistry, gene expression analysis, ELISAs, flow cytometry, and viability assays.
  • First-author publication in related field.
  • Experience or interest in large-scale bioreactors or perfusion culture systems.

Responsibilities

  • Design and execute in vitro experiments using lung cells on 3D-printed models.
  • Develop strategies and assays to optimize culture systems and bioreactors for tissue engineering.
  • Develop analytic assays to evaluate tissue formation on 3D printed models.
  • Record experimental details, write reports, and present findings.
  • Coordinate with supervisor for project directions and results review.
  • Contribute to IP, regulatory filings, and journal publications if necessary.
  • Maintain communication with internal and external collaborators.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
