Job summary

The Biorepository Research Coordinator at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus, Department of Neurosurgery, will work with national and international neurosurgeons on collaborative research using human biosamples. The role involves consent, specimen collection in OR, processing, storage, and shipment for external researchers, with strict HIPAA and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; substitution possible with related experience.
• At least 1 year of clinical research or related experience.
• Experience with regulatory and ethical guidelines (GCP, HIPAA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with surgical staff to obtain tissue samples in OR or pathology lab.
• Log, label, process and store tissue samples in the biorepository database.
• Prepare, track and ship specimens for external researchers while protecting confidentiality.
• Develop, implement, and audit SOPs; participate in quality assurance activities.
• Attend team and department research meetings as applicable.
• Ensure compliance with FDA, IRB, and Biorepository SOPs.
