Job summary

City of Rock Hill is seeking a Tire Technician for its Fleet Maintenance Division. This on-site role requires basic vehicle maintenance experience, a valid license, and the ability to obtain a Tire Industry Association Certification within six months.

You will inspect vehicles, perform tire services, and help keep the shop organized. Quality customer service and teamwork are essential as you collaborate with staff and other departments to meet daily deadlines and safety standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• At least 1 year of vehicle maintenance/repair experience.
• Must have Tire Industry Association Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Knowledge of mechanical trades, safety precautions and repair processes.

Responsibilities

• Performs vehicle inspections and makes repairs as needed.
• Replaces, mounts, and balances tires; raises vehicles with hydraulic jacks.
• Identifies tire size, ply, load range and inflates per specifications.
• Maintains clean work area and updates information and work orders in the computer.
• Picks up and delivers parts; maintains garage and fuel island in repair.
• Performs routine and small vehicle repairs as directed by supervisor.
