Unknown company is seeking a Tire Technician to diagnose, repair, rotate, and change tires. The role involves using jacks and tools to lift vehicles, inspecting tires for defects, and selecting proper tire sizes.

Responsibilities include inflating tires to required pressures, sealing punctures, balancing wheels, and maintaining tire inventory while following safety guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Completion of an automotive tire service program is preferred.
• Experience with tire inspection and safety standards is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair tires and perform rotates and changes as needed.
• Use hydraulic jacks to lift vehicles and remove wheels.
• Inspect tires for holes, tears, or defects and identify correct tire size and ply.
• Inflate tires to specified pressures and seal punctures with patches or plugs as appropriate.
• Balance wheels using balancing machines and attach counterweights.
• Maintain inventory and update records of tires and supplies.

Job Summary:

The Tire Technician will diagnose, repair, rotate, and change tires.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

• None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Uses hydraulic jacks to lift vehicles.
• Inspects tires to identify holes, tears, tread depth, or defects.
• Identifies appropriate tire size and ply; inflates tires to proper air pressure based on product information.
• Removes items puncturing tires; injects or inserts adhesive materials and expanding rubber plugs to seal punctures in tubeless tires; glues or seals patches over ruptures as appropriate.
• Uses lug wrenches and other hand or power tools to unbolt and remove wheels from vehicle.
• Rotates tires using appropriate tools.
• Identifies counterweights required to balance wheels with the use of balancing machines; attaches counterweights onto rims.
• Maintains inventory by tracking stock, organizing supplies, receiving product, and updating records.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to understand and comply with DOT tire repair and replacement standards.
• Ability to safely and efficiently work with related tools and lifts.
• Ability to understand and follow instructions.
• Fluent with technology and software to diagnose, track, and inventory tires.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous related experience or successful completion of a automotive tire service training program.

Requirements:

• Prolonged periods working in confined, awkward spaces.
• Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds at a time.
• Manual dexterity to operate tools and lifts.
• The ability to handle various temperatures, dirt, oil, and other chemicals.
• Must be able to work safely in a noisy environment with strong odors present.
