Job summary

Berry Material Handling - Topeka is seeking a confident tire press mechanic to join our team. We provide in-house, paid training and welcome automotive technicians seeking a change. Pay starts at $24/hour, with growth potential based on experience and performance.

Join us in Topeka, KS, where you will replace forklift wheels/tires in the field, plan repair sequences, pre-order parts, and perform safe, quality repairs. This is a hands-on role requiring good mechanics and a safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Strong potential to develop good mechanical skills, good communication skills, and safe work habits.
• Be able to work independent of direct supervision in a field environment
• Contribution to spirit of teamwork and cooperation through the branch location, specifically with parts personnel and other service technicians
• A technical school or equivalent experience in mechanical repairs is preferred, but not required
• Valid driver's license; clean MVR
• Must be 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements

• Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate construction equipment and facilitate repairs.
• Continuously lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 50-100 pounds and/or frequently lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling 20-50 pounds.
• Regularly required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, grasp or pull and lift objects. Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance, kneel, stoop, crouch, and crawl.
• Consistently exposed to outside weather conditions, fumes, and loud noise.
