Job summary

The Office of the Queens County District Attorney is seeking a Timekeeper to support its Human Resources and Payroll Services Unit in Kew Gardens, NY. The timekeeper will manage confidential documents, enter data in CityTime, run reports and assist with payroll and leave requests.

Responsibilities include advising staff on time reporting, maintaining records, and coordinating with Payroll while handling inquiries by phone or email. A HS diploma and 1+ year related experience are required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and at least one year of experience performing clerical, timekeeping and/or payroll duties or the equivalent education and/or experience.
  • Must have working knowledge of computers and email, excellent oral and written communication skills and organizational ability.
  • For current City employees, a permanent civil service title is highly desired.
  • Strong preference will be given to applicants with experience in timekeeping, including experience with New York City systems including PMS, CityTime and CHRMS. Bachelor's degree preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, organizing and maintaining confidential timekeeping documents including timesheets, supporting documentation and other related material.
  • Entering timekeeping data into the CityTime system and reviewing leave or other requests for consistency with New York City and/or QDA policies.
  • Running reports utilizing the Citytime system and CHRMS, processing supplemental payroll, processing manual leave adjustments.
  • Tracking and monitoring leave usages, accruals and balances to ensure accurate reporting in identifying discrepancies in compliance with Office's time and leave policy.
  • Creating and maintaining an organized and complete timekeeping file for assigned employees through scanning and appropriate storage of documents.
  • Responding to employee inquiries regarding leave balances, appropriate procedures or other related matters via phone, email or in person.
  • Providing support and training to employees and supervisors on proper use of CityTime and time reporting procedures.
  • Coordinating with Payroll to resolve discrepancies and retroactive adjustments.
  • Conferring with supervisors, as required, to ascertain approvals for submitted requests and/or special leave requests.
  • Processing timekeeping data for payroll calculation and other duties relating to timekeeping, recordkeeping, and general HR-related inquiries, as required.
  • Assisting the Time and Leave and Human Resources Director with special projects as assigned.

The Office of the Queens County District Attorney (QDA) is seeking a Timekeeper to support its Human Resources and Payroll Services Unit. The Timekeeper will report to QDA's Director of Time and Leave and will be responsible for a variety of timekeeping functions including, but not limited to:

  1. Receiving, organizing and maintaining confidential timekeeping documents including timesheets, supporting documentation and other related material.

Salary

Salary Range: $57,000 - $66,000 (Commensurate with Experience)
