Job summary

Ko-Kwel Casino Resort on Oregon's southern coast is seeking a Line Cook to bring the chef's vision to life by preparing delicious dishes with precision, consistency, and care on the Timber's hot line or pantry.

You will help create memorable dining experiences while following recipes, mastering technique, and maintaining high standards of quality and cleanliness. Weekend/evening shifts are required.

Qualifications

• 1 year prior experience as a full-service line cook preferred.
• Must obtain a current Food Handler's Card.
• Must pass Coquille Gaming Commission background check and drug free workplace policies.
• Comfortable communicating clearly with guests and teammates.

Responsibilities

• Prepare dishes with precision and consistency on hot line or pantry.
• Cook items to order using grills, fryers, ovens, steam tables.
• Maintain a sanitary workstation and keep the kitchen clean.
• Assist expeditor in final plating to meet presentation standards.
• Keep temperature logs and food transfer documentation.
• Assist with prep duties for the main kitchen.
• Support stewarding functions to maintain cleanliness.

What you bring to the table

• Make sure the space stays safe, clean, and friendly for both guests and the rest of the team; speak up and report any safety concerns to the Safety Committee.
• Maintain proper par levels of food items in assigned cooking areas to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Store and handle all products in full compliance with Oregon Food Safety regulations.
• Execute chef-driven specials with precision and creativity.
• Cook menu items to order using a variety of equipment including grills, fryers, ovens, steam tables, and other specialized tools as needed.
• Assist the expeditor in final plating to guarantee presentation standards are met.
• Keep the kitchen clean and organized, with direct responsibility for maintaining a sanitary workstation during and after shifts.
• Support stewarding functions when needed to contribute to overall kitchen cleanliness.
• Assist with prep duties for the main kitchen as directed.
• Complete and maintain accurate temperature logs and food transfer documentation.
• Perform recipe conversions and adjustments as required.
• Properly use, clean, and maintain all equipment within assigned stations.
• Prep, stock, and replenish items as needed to support continuous service throughout the shift.
• Jump in where needed to support the team and keep things running smoothly. (Other duties as assigned)

• One (1) year prior experience as a full-service line cook preferred.
• Must obtain a current Food Handler's Card.
