Job summary

Cow Creek Band of Umpqua Tribe of Indians seeks a dedicated Log Clerk to join our Forest Management team on-site in Oregon. The role focuses on accurate data entry, sales processing, and financial reconciliation across harvesting, invoicing, and vendor coordination.

This part-time position requires attention to detail, strong Excel/Word skills, and the ability to work with forestry staff, scaling bureaus, and contractors while maintaining audit-ready records.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in accounting, Business Administration, Forestry, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum two years in log accounting, scale processing, production reporting, or related forestry/logistics operations preferred.
• Ability to interpret, analyze, and verify production and financial data including scale reports and invoices.
• Strong data integrity and discrepancy identification skills.

Responsibilities

• Process log and chip sales using daily scale data; enter and verify data in the log accounting system.
• Oversee log sales from harvest through invoicing and payment; reconcile reports for accurate billing.
• Maintain Perpetual Log Inventory records and distribute inventory reports weekly.
• Assist with vouchers, processing log payments, and accounts payable/receivable with Forestry Controller.
• Maintain log purchase and sales agreements in the accounting system and ensure audit readiness.
• Prepare routine operational and financial reports (weekly KPI, monthly Forest-to-Market reports).
• Support by-product sales tracking and revenue recording.
