Job summary

The Idaho Forest Group is seeking a Timber Accountant to ensure accuracy in raw material procurement accounting, manage log sales contracts, and support weigh station functions. This role requires strong cost accounting and contract review capabilities.

You will coordinate with vendors, prepare bid bonds, and assist audits while maintaining timely timber purchase data and compliant accounting practices across the operation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting or similar field; training/certifications may supplement education.
• Minimum 2 years of related accounting experience.
• Working knowledge of accounting principles.
• Knowledge of local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
• Technical skills: Thorough knowledge of computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Monthly reconcile raw materials liability and manage payments for log sales contracts.
• Maintain and reconcile timber contracts, accounts receivable, and timber purchases.
• Set up, maintain, and manage timber contracts in the accounting system.
• Execute semi-monthly timber accounts payable check runs and process contractor payments.
• Audit timber purchase information, reviews contracts and loads for accuracy daily.
• Upload weigh scale information and ensure weigh station functionality.
