Job summary

Manulife John Hancock is seeking a timber investment analyst to develop and deliver complex timber models supporting asset management decisions for clients, portfolio managers, and property teams in North America.

Responsibilities include discounted cash-flow modeling, assumption development, harvest scheduling, and price forecasting; and to prepare long‑term plans and price schedules for timber assets. Strong collaboration with stakeholders is required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in forestry or related field.
  • Graduate degree in forestry or business is highly desirable.
  • Knowledgeable in silviculture, growth and yield models, and North American forestry operations.
  • Timber investment and DCF modeling knowledge.
  • Experience with Remsoft, SQL/Esri GIS, and Excel.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop CPMP modeling deliverables for timber properties.
  • Update asset-level timber investment models annually.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on ad-hoc investment analyses.
  • Provide QA of team work and resolve modeling issues.
  • Present results clearly to clients and internal teams.
  • Suggest process improvements to modeling workflows.
