Job summary

Modern Industries in Phoenix, AZ is seeking an experienced welder to perform weld preparation, welding, and finishing to meet customer drawings and specifications. You will read and interpret mechanical drawings, maintain welding equipment, and document inspections.

The role requires at least 1 year welding experience, high school diploma or equivalent and the ability to read blueprints and use basic computer tools.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Description

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Responsible for various types of weld preparation, welding and weld finishing operations to manufacture product to customer drawings, specifications, or other forms of instruction.
• Interpretation of mechanical drawings, including weld requirement symbology.
• Process inspection, certification, and documentation.
• Welding equipment maintenance. Other duties as assigned by the area supervisor.

Required Skills/Abilities:

• Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
• Ability to read blueprints and instructions.
• Basic Computer skills. Proficiency in welding techniques.
• Knowledge of wire and filler materials applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and some exotic materials.
• Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters (amps, volts, etc.) Capable of reading wiring schematic

Education and Experience:

• High School diploma, or equivalent, and Successful completion of an internal welding test.
• Minimum 1-year experience in various forms of welding.
