Job summary

SpaceX is seeking a TIG Welder for the Raptor combustion devices on 2nd shift in Hawthorne, CA. You will weld, assemble, and fabricate fluid systems for the Raptor engine, reading blueprints and CAD drawings to guide operations.

The role requires 1+ year aerospace TIG welding and fitting welded assemblies, with 3+ years preferred for various materials. Overtime and weekend work may be required; safety and quality are mandatory.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of aerospace TIG welding experience.
• 1+ years of experience fitting welded assemblies.
• Familiarity with blue print reading and lay out.

Responsibilities

• Welding, assembly, and fabrication of fluid systems and sub-assemblies.
• Repair casting defects via grinding, welding and blending.
• Interpret drawings, specifications, and work instructions (blueprints and CAD).
• Use precision tools (micrometers, depth gauges, calipers).
• Improve operations, reduce cycle times, and collaborate to optimize processes.
• Operate shop equipment and vehicles (forklifts, boom lifts, scissor lifts).
• Perform in-process inspection and maintain clean work areas.
• Own weld area equipment and processes; drive problem solving and cost reduction.
