Job summary

SpaceX in Hawthorne, CA is seeking a TIG Welder for the Raptor engine system team. You will weld, assemble, and fabricate fluid systems for the Raptor rocket engine, reading drawings and CAD to plan operations. Requires 1+ years of aerospace TIG welding and fitting welded assemblies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency
• 1+ years aerospace TIG welding
• 1+ years welding assemblies

Responsibilities

• Weld, assemble, and fabricate fluid systems for the Raptor engine.
• Repair casting defects via grinding, welding and blending.
• Read engineering drawings and CAD to plan welding operations; read and interpret work instructions and part drawings.
• Use calibrated tools – micrometers, depth gauges and calipers.
• Improve operations, reduce cycle time and collaborate with team.
• Operate shop equipment and forklifts.
• Conduct in-process inspection.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Own weld area equipment and processes.
• Identify cost reductions and process improvements.
