Job summary

Our client, a small established machine shop in Temple, is seeking a skilled TIG Welder/Fitter for onsite work. The role requires hands-on welding and fitting across aluminum, stainless steel, and carbon steel in a fast-paced, high-mix environment.

You will read blueprints, interpret weld symbols, and perform GTAW welding to exacting tolerances. Bring 5+ years of experience and a commitment to precision and quality workmanship.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on welding/fitting in a job shop or custom fabrication setting.
• Proficient in fitting and welding aluminum, stainless steel and carbon steel.
• Strong GTAW (TIG) welding skills across multiple materials and positions.
• Able to pass AWS welder qualification testing (AWS A2.4) and read weld symbols.

Responsibilities

• Read blueprints, weld symbols, and shop drawings to fit and fabricate parts.
• Fit and tack components with precision prior to final welding.
• Perform GTAW (TIG) welding on multiple materials and positions.
• Select appropriate filler metal, shielding gas, amperage and technique.
• Inspect welds for quality, penetration and appearance with minor finishing.
• Maintain a clean, safe work area and operate shop equipment.
