Job summary

Chart Industries, Inc. is seeking a TIG welder to perform moderate to complex welding tasks and read blueprints/BOMs. You will work on fixtures with jigs and clamps, ensure correct dimensions, and document activities.

The role requires 3+ years of TIG welding experience, the ability to pass weld tests, and the flexibility for overtime or weekend hours. Applicants should be comfortable with heat adjustments for thick materials, measuring with precision tools, and adhering to safety and ISO

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum 3 years TIG welding experience and the ability to pass weld tests.
Experience reading blueprints and BOMs is essential.
Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
Self-starter able to work with minimal supervision.
Strong problem-solving to address non-conformities and deviations.
Ability to measure with tape measure, micrometer and calipers.
Overtime and weekend hours may be required.

Responsibilities

Independently performs moderate to complex welding activities, including hand welding and material handling.
Welds metal parts on fixtures, attaching jigs and clamps to hold parts in position.
Determines steel type and gauge; makes heat adjustments for varying thicknesses.
Uses blueprints and sketches to ensure correct dimensions and components.
Updates and maintains all required documentation for responsibilities.
Assumes responsibility for tools and equipment.
Maintains a clean work area and proper disposal of hazardous waste.
Follows ISO standards and quality procedures; includes safety practices.
May perform mass spec and visual inspections meeting stringent requirements.
Performs other duties as assigned, e.g., painting or insulating a tank.
