Job summary

PRL Motorsports in Pennsylvania is seeking a Welder Apprentice/Material Handler to prepare parts for welding, stage assemblies, and support welding, assembly and warehouse teams to keep workflow efficient.

Responsibilities include pulling and staging parts, prepping and deburring, inspecting quality, maintaining workflow of staged builds and finished welds, and assisting shipping/receiving while following safety guidelines; daily TIG welding practice to grow skills.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical school post-secondary training for welding.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Flexible with shifting responsibilities.
  • Willingness to learn welding and follow assigned processes with the ability to adapt to change.

  • Collaborating with team to identify quality issue trends and maintain quality of parts.
  • Maintain workflow of staged builds and finished welded products.

  • Participate in meetings, follow guidance, strategize improvements, and provide feedback as appropriate.
  • Follow Safety Guidelines and TIG Welding 1-2 hours daily.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Overview

The Welder Apprentice/Material Handler position is dedicated to the preparation of piece parts for the welding department, intermittent welding, as well as inspecting components that are being pulled for staging. Additionally, the Welder Apprentice/Material Handler will consolidate miscellaneous related tasks and support employees within assembly, welding and warehouse departments to maintain and promote efficient workflow.

Duties

  • Pulling and staging piece parts for all builds in Welding
  • Prepping parts as needed (deburring, cleaning, etc.)
  • Collaborating with team to identify quality issue trends and maintain quality of parts
  • Maintain workflow of staged builds and finished welded products
  • Support additional shipping/receiving tasks to and from Building #1
  • Participate in meetings, follow guidance, strategize improvements, and provide feedback as appropriate
  • Follow Safety Guidelines
  • Practice TIG Welding 1-2 hours each day to build skillset suitable for customer needs
  • Other duties as assigned
