Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Winsted, CT is seeking a skilled TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team. You will weld on specified jobs, read and interpret sketches, and maintain welding certification to ensure quality and safety.

Minimum starting salary is $23.00 per hour with additional shift differentials of $2.00/hour on 2nd shift and $3.00/hour on 3rd shift. A $3000 sign-on bonus is available for external hires. Excellent benefits, 401K with company match, and paid vacation are offered.

• 2nd shift: $2.00/hour

• Training may be completed on 1st shift for several months if needed

Job Summary

Perform welding on specified jobs as needed.

Essential Functions

• Adds hardness beads prior to machining.
• Resolve problems with porosity, lack of fusion, voids, lack of welds etc. as they occur.

Perform welder prep prior to welding and weld deburr.

• Operate hardness test machines.
• Ability to read, understand and follow operational sketches.
• Follow policies and procedures as outlined in Employee Handbook.
• Must maintain welding certification status and perform all other duties as assigned.

Education:

• Use of basic math, including decimals and fractions and basic skills knowledge are required for this position.

Experience:

• Experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Welding experience preferred.
