Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Berea, OH is seeking a weld technician to safely set-up and operate welding equipment (TIG, automatic seam) per work orders and process instructions. You will inspect parts, document work, and maintain safety and quality standards.

The ideal candidate holds TIG welding certification, has basic computing skills, and can read micrometers/calipers with strong attention to detail. Overtime may be required, and prior manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Certification in Welding (TIG) or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills required.
  • Read basic measuring devices including micrometers and calipers.
  • Strong attention to detail is essential.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Desire to work overtime, as needed.
  • Ability to meet the physical demand of the job.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.

  • Complete required documentation accurately i.e work instructions sheet, identification tags and data entry of labor transactions)
  • Adhere to all safety, quality and operating procedures and maintain a clean work area
  • Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance on equipment, as required
  • Other duties as assigned
