Job summary

Howmet Aerospace in Berea, OH is seeking a skilled welder to set up and operate TIG and other welding processes to meet exacting blueprints.

You will inspect parts, document results, and maintain a safe, clean work area while adhering to quality procedures.

This full-time on-site role requires attention to detail, the ability to read technical documents, and willingness to work overtime as needed.

Qualifications

• Cert in Welding (TIG) or equivalent experience.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read micrometers and calipers.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Able to read safety and operating instructions.
• Willingness to work overtime as needed.
• Physically able to meet job demands.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate welding equipment per work orders.
• Inspect parts for blueprint conformance and adjust as needed.
• Complete documentation such as work instructions and data entry.
• Follow safety, quality, and cleaning procedures.
• Perform safety checks and preventive maintenance.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job description

• Locations 1000 W Bagley Rd., Berea, OH, 44017, US (On-site)
• Job Schedule Full time
• Export-Controlled Data This position entails access to export-controlled items and employment offers are conditioned upon an applicant's ability to lawfully obtain access to such items

Responsibilities

• Safely set-up and operate welding equipment in accordance to work order requirements and process instructions. Types of welding equipment include automatic seam, and TIG
• Inspect parts for conformance to blueprint and make necessary adjustments to ensure compliance with specifications and part approval
• Complete required documentation accurately i.e work instructions sheet, identification tags and data entry of labor transactions)
• Adhere to all safety, quality and operating procedures and maintain a clean work area
• Perform safety checks and preventative maintenance on equipment, as required
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Certification in Welding (TIG) or equivalent work experience
• Basic computer skills
• Read basic measuring devices including micrometers and calipers
• Strong attention to detail
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
• Desire to work overtime, as needed
• Ability to meet the physical demand of the job
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing setting preferred
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred
