Job summary

Howmet Aerospace Inc. in Berea, OH is seeking an experienced Welding Engineer to manage welding processes and lead NADCAP audits. You will review procedures, train operators, and provide technical welding expertise across the manufacturing unit.

The role requires extensive aerospace welding experience and knowledge of AWS D17.1/D17.2, with on-site work at the Berea facility.

Qualifications

  • Education: Two-year college or university; and minimum of 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Extensive experience with AWS D17.1 & D17.2.
  • Extensive experience in welding processes and aerospace customer specifications.
  • Experience with aerospace materials - super alloys, Inconel 625 / 718, titaniums, aluminums, stainless steels.

Responsibilities

  • Manage welding processes to comply with customer and industry specs.
  • Lead NADCAP and customer welding audits.
  • Review and enhance procedures for qualification and testing of weld operators and welders.
  • Assist in training, testing, and approval of weld operators.
  • Provide technical resources as the welding subject matter expert for the business unit.
  • Ensure customer requirement flow-down through contract review.
  • Support Quality and Manufacturing Engineers to ensure products/processes meet the relevant ISO/QMS requirements.
  • Interface with internal departments to ensure continuous control over welding equipment and processes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for managingwelding processes to ensure compliance to all customer and industry specifications

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience with AWS D17.1 & D17.2

  • AWS certifiedweldinspector -preferred
  • Experience with TIG, spot, and laser welding
  • Computer Skills: Microsoft Office – word, excel and power point
