Job summary

ETS-Lindgren is seeking a TIG Welder to inspect, assemble, and bond metal components ensuring high-quality workmanship. You will prepare surfaces, select materials, and set machine controls to maintain proper welding and soldering standards.

This role emphasizes safety, precision, and meeting strict specifications in a collaborative manufacturing environment. The ideal candidate has 1-2 years of TIG welding and related skills, with preference for additional trades school training or MIG/TIG

Qualifications

  • High school diploma required.
  • 1-2 years TIG welding, brazing, and soldering experience.
  • Ability to meet superior aesthetic and quality standards.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect, measure or test finished metal parts to ensure conformance to specifications.
  • Assemble, align and clamp parts into fixtures for bonding, heat-treating, or soldering fabricated metal components.
  • Layout, fit, or connect parts and calculate production measurements as necessary.
  • Mark weld points and positions of components on work pieces using rulers, squares, templates or scribes.
  • Prepare metal surfaces or work pieces using grinders, cutters, or drills; clean aluminum with alcohol or acetone.
  • Select torch tips, alloys, flux, coil, tubing or wire according to metal types or thickness.
  • Set dials and timing controls to regulate electrical current, gas flow, heating or cooling cycles, or shut-off; observe meters for process quality.

Position Description

Inspect, measure or test completed metal work pieces to ensure conformation to specifications, using metal and testing devices

Assemble, align and clamp work pieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components. Correct problems by adjusting controls or by stopping machines and opening holding devices

Layout, fit, or connect parts to be bonded, calculating production measurements as necessary

Mark weld points and positions of components on work pieces using rulers, squares, templates or scribes

Prepare metal surfaces or work pieces, using hand-operated equipment, such as grinders, cutters, or drills. Prepare aluminum by cleaning with alcohol or acetone

Select torch tips, alloys, flux, coil, tubing or wire, according to metal types or thickness, data charts, or records

Set dials and timing controls to regulate electrical current, gas flow pressure, heating or cooling cycles, or shut-off. Observe meters, gauges or machine operations to ensure that soldering or brazing processes meets standards

Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • 1-2 years of TIG welding, brazing, and soldering experience meeting superior aesthetic, cosmetic, and high quality standards
