Job summary

A leading defense contractor in the United States is seeking a Tier II Network Technician to support computer data communications systems. Responsibilities encompass installation and maintenance of LAN/WAN devices, configuration management, and troubleshooting network issues. Candidates must have 10 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education. The position requires a TS/SCI security clearance and requires office presence five days a week without relocation options.

Qualifications

• 10 years of experience in relevant fields or equivalent education.
• Compliance with DoD 8570 IAT Level 2 requirements.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Support the installation and maintenance of client LAN/WAN devices.
• Respond to and resolve incident tickets.
• Draft and implement standard network change requests.
• Configure and troubleshoot layer 2 switching.
• Coordinate network operations and maintenance.

Skills

Knowledge of TCP/IP and OSI model

Layer 1 and Layer 2 network experience

Configuration management skills

Experience with Cisco IOS and Juniper JUNOS

Basic routing fundamentals

Ability to travel

Education

Combination of work history and education equating to 10 years
