Job summary

Intelligent Waves seeks a Tier II Operations Technician to provide application and network support and Linux system administration for a DoD/IC communications system. Based at Fort Meade, MD, with occasional travel to Mechanicsburg, PA, you will manage applications, networks, and systems, diagnose issues, and support a large community of users in a 24/7 environment.

You will work with government engineers, troubleshoot complex issues, and assist with deployments.

Qualifications

• DoD Top Secret Clearance w/TS-SCI eligibility.
• 3–10 years of experience and a bachelor’s or master’s degree.
• Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and resolve complex technical issues in operational or customer-facing environments.
• Experience with web-based technologies, Linux/Unix operating systems, and database queue generation.
• Knowledge of WAN environments and supporting infrastructure, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, REST APIs, Linux administration, and distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Support a large-scale FMV architecture, resolving issues affecting portal, infrastructure, and network.
• Diagnose system issues, perform fault isolation, and restore services.
• Assist with large-scale system implementations and ongoing operational support.
• Troubleshoot software, infrastructure, networking, and deployment issues in production.
• Administer Linux-based systems using Git, Docker, Kubernetes, and CI/CD pipelines.
• Identify, track, and manage technical issues through resolution.
• Escalate complex issues to Tier III and document actions taken.
• Provide updates to customers and stakeholders regarding service status and resolutions.
• Collaborate with software, network, and systems engineers.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
