Job summary

Precision Imaging Centers is seeking a Tier 3 Patient Scheduling Specialist (Remote). You will coordinate patient appointments for imaging services, support referring providers, and ensure accurate, positive scheduling experiences from home.

Ideal candidates have strong customer service, excellent communication, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced scheduling environment, while maintaining compassionate patient care and adherence to guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in customer service and healthcare contact is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Monday–Friday | 11:30 AM – 8:00 PM
• Friday–Monday | 8:00 AM – 6:30 PM (4-day workweek)
• Monday–Friday | 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
• Monday–Friday | 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Monday–Friday | 7:00 AM – 5:30 PM

What You'll Do

As a Tier 3 Patient Scheduling Specialist, you'll play an essential role in coordinating patient appointments, supporting referring providers, and ensuring an accurate, efficient, and positive scheduling experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle inbound and outbound calls for general imaging, breast imaging, and auto/legal scheduling.
• Schedule diagnostic imaging appointments accurately across multiple locations.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of breast imaging scheduling protocols and follow established guidelines from our Director of Breast Imaging.
• Review physician orders, patient demographics, and insurance information for accuracy and completeness.
• Collect and verify insurance and financial information according to established procedures.
• Clearly communicate exam preparation instructions, scheduling requirements, and appointment details to patients.
• Assist patients with questions regarding exam costs, billing, and financial responsibilities.
• Contact referring providers to clarify orders or obtain missing information when necessary.
• Respond promptly to patient text messages, scheduling emails, and other correspondence.
• Coordinate patient transportation through Uber Business for auto/legal appointments.
• Manage assigned scheduling worklists and follow-up recommendations using Ikonopedia.
• Provide call triage support and route messages to appropriate departments.
• Receive and process incoming faxes accurately and efficiently.
• Recognize complex scheduling situations and elevate concerns to appropriate team members or leadership.
• Maintain accuracy, professionalism, and exceptional customer service while managing multiple responsibilities.

Productivity & Performance Expectations

Our Scheduling Team is committed to providing timely, accurate, and compassionate patient service.

Team members are expected to:

• Schedule a minimum of 25 exams per day.
• Handle a minimum of 80 inbound/outbound calls daily.
• Answer incoming calls within 20 seconds.
• Respond to patient text messages within 3 minutes.
• Consistently meet established quality, accuracy, and productivity standards.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Previous healthcare appointment scheduling experience, particularly in diagnostic imaging or breast imaging.
• Familiarity with medical terminology and diagnostic imaging procedures.
• Experience reviewing physician orders and verifying insurance information.
• Knowledge of healthcare billing, insurance authorizations, and payer requirements.
• Experience working in a healthcare call center or high-volume patient scheduling environment.
