Job summary

GeoLinks is seeking a Tier 2 NSC Technician to provide support for tower‑side and customer premise equipment. Based in Camarillo, CA, you will collaborate with field teams to resolve escalated customer issues in a fast‑paced environment.

The role requires hands‑on experience with routers, switches, and wireless systems, plus strong networking knowledge. Multiple shifts are offered; hourly pay ranges from $22.00 to $25.00.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • Associate degree in Networking, IT, or equivalent practical experience is preferred; two or more years of related experience is an advantage.
  • Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or CCNA are a plus.
  • Previous hands‑on support experience with routers, switches, and wireless systems is required.
  • Intermediate understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, the OSI model, routing, and related concepts.
  • Experience configuring radio technologies and devices such as Ubiquiti, Cambium, and MikroTik.
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN environments, VLANs, gateways, and routing protocols.
  • Proficiency with Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Familiarity with monitoring platforms such as Zabbix or SolarWinds.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities in a fast‑paced, high‑pressure setting.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a strong problem‑solving approach.
  • Team‑oriented mindset with a customer‑first focus.
  • Typing speed of 40+ words per minute.

Responsibilities

  • We provide technical support to clients and internal teams through cases, email, chat, and phone.
  • We create and update accurate records in our internal ticketing systems.
  • We troubleshoot VoIP and internet connectivity problems.
  • We provision and configure CPE devices, radios, and routers.
  • We perform intermediate configuration adjustments and firmware upgrades.
  • We support field technicians during new installations and troubleshooting work.
  • We monitor network performance and health using tools such as Zabbix and SolarWinds.
  • We carry out Layer 1 through Layer 3 diagnostics to resolve routing, addressing, and connectivity issues.
  • We make OSPF routing changes and help troubleshoot MPLS issues at a basic to intermediate level.
  • We conduct wireless frequency scans and analyze results to improve radio performance.
  • We escape complex or unresolved issues to Tier 3 support.
  • We assist with network audits, inventory management, and compliance documentation.
  • We follow and contribute to Standard Operating Procedures and Methods of Procedure.
  • We participate in an on‑call rotation, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

We operate in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where this Tier 2 NSC Technician position supports the health of our tower‑side and customer premise equipment while partnering closely with field teams and helping resolve escalated customer issues. We offer multiple shifts, including 7:30am to 4:00pm and 2:00pm to 10:30pm, and the position is paid hourly at $22.00 to $25.00.
