Job description

Tier4Group is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, high-availability network environments. This role is ideal for someone with solid hands‑on networking experience who enjoys troubleshooting, improving infrastructure, and supporting mission‑critical systems that truly matter.

What You’ll Do
  • Monitor network availability, performance, and reliability; proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure maximum uptime.
  • Deploy, support, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Implement and support network security controls to protect systems and data from cyber threats.
  • Troubleshoot network outages and performance issues using best‑practice methodologies to quickly assess, remediate, and stabilize environments.
  • Perform technical analysis during incidents, document root causes, and recommend improvements.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop, update, and enforce network standards, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date network documentation in alignment with industry standards.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users and internal IT teams.
  • Communicate clearly with management, delivering regular updates, reports, and technical summaries.
  • Stay current with emerging networking technologies, tools, and industry trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
  • Strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs.
  • Hands‑on experience with networking hardware from vendors such as SonicWall, Cambium, UniFi, Meraki, Fortinet, WatchGuard, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of network security best practices.
  • Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Auvik, Wireshark, SolarWinds, or equivalents.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in a network engineering, network support, or similar role.
  • Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA.
