Tier4Group is seeking a skilled Network Engineer to design, implement, and support secure, high-availability network environments. This role is ideal for someone with solid hands‑on networking experience who enjoys troubleshooting, improving infrastructure, and supporting mission‑critical systems that truly matter.
What You’ll Do
- Monitor network availability, performance, and reliability; proactively identify and resolve issues to ensure maximum uptime.
- Deploy, support, and maintain network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
- Implement and support network security controls to protect systems and data from cyber threats.
- Troubleshoot network outages and performance issues using best‑practice methodologies to quickly assess, remediate, and stabilize environments.
- Perform technical analysis during incidents, document root causes, and recommend improvements.
- Collaborate with team members to develop, update, and enforce network standards, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date network documentation in alignment with industry standards.
- Provide technical support and guidance to end users and internal IT teams.
- Communicate clearly with management, delivering regular updates, reports, and technical summaries.
- Stay current with emerging networking technologies, tools, and industry trends.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring
- Strong working knowledge of networking fundamentals and protocols: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs.
- Hands‑on experience with networking hardware from vendors such as SonicWall, Cambium, UniFi, Meraki, Fortinet, WatchGuard, or similar.
- Solid understanding of network security best practices.
- Experience using network monitoring and troubleshooting tools such as Auvik, Wireshark, SolarWinds, or equivalents.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in a network engineering, network support, or similar role.
- Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+ or Cisco CCNA.
