Tier 1 Heavy Equipment Operator

Essential Functions
  • Operating heavy equipment safely and efficiently, following all safety and maintenance procedures.
  • Performing daily equipment maintenance: oil, coolant, turntables, belts, hoses, greasing zerk fittings, cleaning, and fueling.
  • Following all safety instructions.
  • Reporting all maintenance, repairs, or damages to the foreman.
  • Reporting all incidents and injuries to the foreman.
  • Performing all job functions of a Light Equipment Operator, Pipe Layer, and General Laborer.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year experience operating heavy equipment (dozer, grader, tractor, large excavator, stabilizer).
  • Ability to load trucks and knock down piles.
  • Reliable and punctual transportation for travel to job sites.
  • Effective communication with co‑workers and management.
  • Fast learner and willingness to assist in training upcoming operators.
  • Certifications: Flagger, CPR/First Aid, OSHA 10, TCT (if applicable).
Physical Requirements

Requires mobility to operate vehicle equipment, lifting, pulling, and managing heavy equipment and objects that may exceed 15 pounds, working in all weather conditions, and tolerance for extreme heat and cold.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Regularly required to talk or hear, use hands or fingers to handle or feel objects, tools or controls. Frequently standing, walking, sitting, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Must occasionally lift and/or move objects over 15 pounds. Vision requirements: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust focus.

Mandatory Safety Equipment
  • Safety vest when working in traffic/pedestrian areas.
  • Hardhat on all job sites.
  • Hand protection – gloves.
  • Foot protection – safety shoes (steel‑toe).
  • Eye protection – safety glasses.
