Job summary

A construction company in Texas seeks an Operator (Heavy Equipment) to operate machinery for site preparation and pipeline construction. FLSA Status: Hourly Non-exempt position

Full Time
Reports to: Foreman

Job Purpose:

Operate heavy equipment and machinery safely, productively and efficiently to move construction materials, earth, and other heavy materials at assigned locations to accomplish construction site objectives

Job Duties:
  • Operate heavy equipment as required to ready land for construction
  • Use machinery to dig trenches to lay pipeline and hoist heavy construction materials
  • Maintain, clean and repair equipment as needed to ensure functionality at all times
  • Follow site grading and operations plans, read grade stakes and operate in a medium to fine grade environment.
  • Coordinate activities with foreman and superintendent
  • Ensure operation of equipment to highest OSHA and safety standards
  • Conduct training of other team members to ensure quality work at all times
  • Perform cleanup duties around work area
  • Other duties as assigned
Skills/Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent knowledge and experience required. Minimum two years’ experience operating heavy equipment in a construction environment. Field experience and knowledge of pipeline construction. Good leadership skills required. Attention to detail, initiative, and reliability. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.
