Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) in Raleigh, NC seeks a Tier 1 Cloud Support agent to diagnose and resolve access, connectivity, and authentication issues across virtual machines and cloud resources.

You will provision and secure cloud infrastructure, manage user access, and document actions in Jira or ServiceNow. Qualified candidates must be a US citizen with active Secret clearance, 0–2 years IT/CS experience, and be willing to on-call/on-site daily in Raleigh.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or related field with 0–2 years of work experience.
US citizenship required with active Secret clearance.
Willing to participate in on-call and weekend work.
Experience supporting virtual environments (VMs) preferred.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve access, connectivity, and authentication issues across VMs and shared resources.
Provision, configure, and secure cloud infrastructure with patching and encryption.
Manage user and system access, including identity and permissions.
Monitor system health and security incidents; escalate with logs.
Document actions and updates in Jira or ServiceNow.
Collaborate with end users to validate changes and maintain escalation protocol.
