Job summary

Applied Research Associates, Inc. (ARA) seeks a Cloud Network Engineer to design and implement secure, cloud-based development environments in Raleigh, NC. You will work with hardware, software, and security colleagues to deliver robust networking solutions and ATO-ready diagrams.

Preferred candidates have 5–8 years of relevant experience, DoD clearance eligibility, and CCNP or equivalent certification, with a strong teamwork and communication ethic within an employee-owned organization.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizenship required (no exceptions).
• Eligible to obtain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Within 60 days of hire, obtain DoD 8570 IAT Level II Certification (Security+, CCNA-Security, etc.).
• Excellent oral & written communication skills.
• Technical leadership experience.
• Excel as a team player to maximize performance.
• Willing to work on-site daily at Raleigh, NC location.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop cloud-based network environments.
• Develop a network architecture including site surveys and planning.
• Install and configure network equipment (Routers, Switches, encryption devices).
• Create network diagrams to support ATO (authority to operate).
• Use Visio or similar to present network plans to team and customers.
• Collaborate with clients to elicit requirements and craft flexible networking solutions.
