Campbell Clinic Pc in Cookeville, TN is seeking a Tier 1 Clinical Support Assistant / Cast Tech to provide clerical and clinical support to physicians. You will cast, splint, and fit orthopedic devices under physician guidance, while preparing patients and assisting with minor office procedures.

The role requires a High School diploma or GED, healthcare experience, and the ability to obtain Medical Assistant Certification if not already certified.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; two years in healthcare environment.
• One year of clerical experience required.
• Able to pass Medical Assistant Certification upon hire; casting training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Directs and escorts patients to appropriate treatment areas.
• Prepares patients for casting procedures and explains techniques.
• Assists provider in minor office procedures such as biopsies, injections, and aspirations.
• Applies, removes, and fits soft goods; maintains clinic cleanliness and stock.
• Schedules patient appointments and tests; answers phones in the clinic.

Tier 1 Clinical Support Assistant / Cast Tech

Regular Full-Time TICookeville, Cookeville, TN, US

DIMENSIONS/SCOPE OF POSITION: Serves as a physician’s clerical and clinical support to ensure the delivery of quality patient care. Designs, applies, removes, and adjusts a wide variety of casts, splints, soft goods, and other orthopedic devices as directed by the physician

ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Directs and escorts patients to appropriate treatment areas
• Obtains appropriate information to aid the provider in the treatment of the patient
• Prepares patient for casting procedures and explains techniques
• Assists provider in minor office procedures such as biopsies, injections, and aspirations
• Applies, removes, and fits soft goods
• Ensures exam rooms, pods, and cast department are clean and properly stocked
• Maintains sterilization of clinic instruments
• Schedules patient's appointments and tests when necessary
• Assists in answering phone calls while in clinic
• Regular and predictable attendance
• Ability to work in a cooperative manner with others
• Performs other related duties as assigned

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and/or Experience:High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required; two years in healthcare environment is required. One year of clerical experience is required.

Language Skills:Able to communicate effectively in the English language.

Mathematical Skills:Basic arithmetic skills are required.

Reasoning Ability:Identifies and resolves problems promptly.

Computer Skills:Must be computer literate. Basic computer skills required.

Certificates, Licenses:Certified Medical Assistant, LPN, or RN certification required. Must be able to pass Medical Assistant Certification upon hire at the clinic if certification is not obtained before hire; Successful completion of the casting training program within 90 days of employment is required.

Other Skills and Abilities:Able to listen and respond well to questions and feedback.
