Job summary

Oak View Group is seeking a friendly Ticket Seller for the Macon Centreplex. You will assist guests with ticket purchases, Will Call distribution, and provide accurate event information. The position pays $9.00-$10.00 per hour on a part-time schedule.

Responsibilities include arriving on time in uniform, handling cash and credit card transactions, generating tickets, and resolving guest questions. The role requires excellent customer service, basic computer skills, and the ability to work

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • Basic computer skills, ideally with a computerized ticketing system.
  • Previous cash handling and/or retail experience.
  • Ability to accurately and efficiently handle cash and process credit card transactions.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to keep accurate and legible records.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and some holidays.

Responsibilities

  • Arrive for each scheduled shift on time, in uniform and ready to work.
  • Attentively listen to guests’ questions and requests.
  • Provide accurate information to guests regarding events being held in the building, including dates, times, ticket prices, discounts, restrictions, seating options, event descriptions, and general facility information.
  • Accurately generate tickets from the computerized system and retain them until the payment transaction is complete.
  • Handle payment transactions whether by cash or credit card in an accurate, efficient, and timely manner.
  • Ensure that an acceptable credit card is provided, supported by a photo ID, and that the guest signs the receipt, or for cash purchases, that any change is counted back to the guest.
  • Provide tickets to guests and request that they review the tickets to ensure the date and time of the event are correct.
  • Ensure that cash count is accurate at the beginning of each shift and that, when the cash drawer is counted at the end of the shift by management, the cash in the drawer equals the amount taken in per the ticketing system, plus the starting balance.
  • Listen to guest concerns and complaints in a calm and patient manner and resolve issues to the satisfaction of the guest or contact a Supervisor/Manager if assistance is required

Position Summary

The Ticket Seller will assist guests in a friendly, courteous, and professional manner with ticket purchases and distribution of Will Call tickets. This role pays an hourly rate of $9.00‑$10.00.

About The Venue

The Macon Centreplex is comprised of the Macon Coliseum and Macon City Auditorium. The Macon Coliseum is home to the tenant hockey team, the Macon Mayhem, and seats 9,000 patrons. Family shows, concerts, trade shows, GHSA, among others, are frequent entertainment in the venue. The Macon City Auditorium first opened in 1925 and has hosted iconic greats like Otis Redding, The Allman Brothers, and Little Richard. The venue hosts concerts, weddings, private galas, and comedy shows, among other events, in its 2,500‑seat space. The 10,000‑capacity Amphitheater opened in the spring of 2024 with concerts, comedy shows, graduations, and community events.
