Job summary

Granby Ranch is seeking a Ticket Scanner for winter season. You will greet guests, verify that chairlift passengers hold a valid ticket or pass, and ensure waivers are signed.

You will also confirm identity matches media, work outdoors in varying weather, and support the ticket office with lift tickets, season passes, rentals, and ski school services. The role requires standing and walking outdoors, excellent customer service, and the ability to handle POS transactions while maintaining privacy

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or actively enrolled in High School.
  • Customer service experience preferred.
  • Computer literacy and keyboard knowledge.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to handle guest interactions, both positive and negative, in a professional and courteous manner.
  • English written and spoken communication能力.

Responsibilities

  • Greet guests with a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
  • Scan each ticket/pass media to verify valid chairlift access, signed waiver, and identity match.
  • Detain guests whose ticket/media is invalid or identity does not match and follow protocol.
  • Sell, book, and process season passes, lift tickets, rental equipment, ski school lessons, events, and more.
  • Ensure every guest has a signed waiver and photo uploaded to their profile.
  • Review reservations for the following day to anticipate guest volume.
  • Process discounts/vouchers and promotions as required.
  • Process credit card transactions and adhere to privacy policies.
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures are in place.
  • Complete closing procedures for selling stations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to meet goals and improve processes.
  • Maintain a calm, organized, and positive environment.

Winter2026/2027

Reports To: Commercials Ops Manager/Supervisor
Department: Guest Services
Status: Part Time/Full Time Seasonal

Pay Rate: $18 per hour
Date: 8/13/2026

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Ticket Scanner position is responsible for greeting guests and verifying chairlift passengers have a valid ticket or pass for chairlift access, confirming that a waiver has been signed, and verifying the identity on the scanner with that of the pass/ticket media holder. This position requires standing and walking outdoors in variable and sometimes extreme weather conditions interacting with hundreds of guests throughout each shift. In this role, you will work with the Ticket department selling our products at a point-of-sale station including lift tickets, season passes, rental equipment, ski & ride school lessons, events, and more.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Greet guests with a friendly, welcoming demeanor.
  • Scan each ticket/pass media to verify valid chairlift access, signed waiver, and confirm identity matches person with media being used.
  • Detain guests whose ticket/pass media does not match identity or is not valid and follow protocol for the situation.
  • Sell, book, and process season passes, lift tickets, rental equipment, ski school lessons, and more in the ticket office.
  • Ensure every guest has a signed waiver and has photo uploaded to their profile.
  • Review reservation bookings for the following day to be prepared for customer volume.
  • Process discounts/vouchers and promotions as required.
  • Process credit card transactions and adhere strictly to guest and other privacy policies.
  • Ensure proper cash handling procedures are in place and always adhered to.
  • Complete closing procedures for individual selling stations.
  • Work with other departments to ensure goals are met and processes are effective.
  • Keeping a calm, organized, and positive environment.

ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist with lift maze set up.
  • Assist Ticket department with selling tickets, passes, rentals, and ski & ride school.
  • Learn how to fit ski & snowboard boots to assist with Rental department when needed.
  • Maintain an exceptional level of guest service in all interactions with guests, fellow employees, and other department managers.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

  • Computer literacy and keyboard knowledge.

  • manner.
  • Talking to others to convey information effectively.
  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being
  • made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times.
  • Ability to handle cash and credit card transactions efficiently.
  • Ability to understand and carry out written and verbal instructions in English.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent or actively enrolled in High School.
  • Customer service experience preferred.


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Work outdoors in variable and sometimes extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
  • Climbing stairs, walking, and locating guests outside when necessary.
  • Standing, walking, dexterity for keyboard, handheld scanner.
  • Dexterity, Auditory and Visual capabilities for operating scanning equipment and interacting with hundreds of guests per shift.
  • All weekends and holidays required.
