Job summary

NTC Language Services is seeking reliable and professional In-Person Educational Interpreters for Tibetan in NYC. This part-time, as-needed position involves in-person interpretation at schools in NYC, NY.

Interpreters must be fluent in English and Tibetan, able to convey meaning accurately, maintain neutrality, and communicate professionally with families and school staff. Starting pay is $35.00 per hour, with flexible scheduling.

Qualifications

• Proficient reading, writing, and speaking in both English and Tibetan.
• Ability to interpret accurately between English and Tibetan while preserving meaning and tone.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students and families; uphold professional ethics.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-person interpretation for parent-teacher conferences.
• Interpret for CSE/CPSE meetings and student evaluations.
• Assist with student enrollment, registrations, and school orientations.
• Facilitate communication among students, families, educators, administrators, and other school professionals.
