Job summary

WH Wheeling Hospital Inc. seeks a Throughput Registered Nurse to oversee nursing care delivery using the nursing process. The role emphasizes critical thinking, telephonic assessment with physicians, and timely patient placement decisions.

Qualified candidates will hold an active RN license, have 5 years of nursing experience, and preferably possess a BSN or be enrolled in a BSN program. BLS is required within 30 days of hire.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse license in the state of service or multi-state via eNLC.
• Five (5) years nursing experience.
• BSN preferred or ASN/Diploma with BSN within 5 years of hire.
• BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate patient transfers from outside facilities with safe bed placement.
• Synthesize patient data and determine correct service for needs via telephone.
• Make clinical decisions and consult with peers/management as needed.
• Initiate actions to reduce risk based on data indicating patient health risks.
• Document and communicate using established patient care systems.
