Job summary

Western Home Communities is seeking a compassionate Home Health Aide (CNA) to join our in-home care team. You will provide care in clients' homes, helping them stay independent and safe while you support daily living activities and mobility.

The role requires Iowa CNA certification, a valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and CPR or willingness to obtain it. You’ll travel to clients’ homes across several counties, coordinating with office staff to ensure high-quality care.

Qualifications

  • Must have a valid Driver's License.
  • Reliable vehicle with active vehicle insurance for travel to client homes.
  • Must be certified by the State of Iowa as a CNA.
  • Willingness to perform hands-on care: assist with personal care and mobility.
  • CPR Certification or willingness to obtain it.
  • Self-starter with ability to work independently and manage schedule.

Responsibilities

  • Provide in-home care to help clients maintain independence.

Western Home Communities and Thrivera atHome is seeking a Home Health Aide (CNA) to join our growing team!

In this fulfilling role, you will provide in‑home care for clients, helping them maintain their independence while receiving the support they need to thrive in their own homes. Requirements of a Home Health Aide:
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License
  • You must have a reliable vehicle and active vehicle insurance, as you will be responsible for travel to the client’s home
  • Must be certified by the State of Iowa as a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA)
  • Willingness to Perform Hands‑On Care: You should feel comfortable assisting with personal care and mobility.
  • CPR Certification or the willingness to obtain it.
  • Self‑Starter: You will be working independently, so the ability to move efficiently between tasks and manage your schedule is a must.
What You'll Do as a Home Health Aide:
  • Provide Compassionate In‑Home Care: Assist clients with daily activities, including personal care, meal preparation, light housekeeping, and other tasks to help maintain their independence at home.
  • Physical Support for Clients: Help clients with personal hygiene tasks such as bathing, dressing, and mobility (getting in/out of bed, walking, standing, etc.).
  • Be a Trusted Support System: Respond to clients' needs with patience, care, and professionalism.
  • Offer emotional support and reassurance to help clients feel safe and valued.
  • Maintain a Clean and Safe Environment: Assist with light housekeeping, laundry, meal prep, grocery shopping, and errands, all while maintaining a safe and organized living space for your clients.
  • Use your own reliable vehicle to get to clients' homes in Black Hawk, Grundy, Bremer, Butler, and Buchanan counties—and help them get where they need to go, like doctor’s appointments, grocery runs, and other errands that help them stay independent.
  • Act as a Liaison: Report any concerns or changes in a client's condition to the office staff, ensuring a smooth flow of communication and the highest level of care.
