Job summary

The Salvation Army ARC Porterville Thrift Store is seeking a SALES ASSOCIATE/MATERIAL HANDLER to join the retail team. This part-time role emphasizes customer service, donation handling, and stock organization to support the Adult Rehabilitation Program in Porterville, CA.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, processing donations, stocking shelves, and maintaining store cleanliness while adhering to TSA policies and procedures. Flexible availability is a plus.

Qualifications

High School graduate or equivalent
Must be able to operate POS/Cash Register
Must pass background check, which will include Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
Stock items ready for sale on the floor per TSA standards.
Sort donations for processing per TSA standards.
Assist in maintaining the store to be clean, neat and organized, and perform cleaning duties as assigned.
Follow TSA policies for safety and dress code.
Assist with receiving, unloading, and stocking incoming inventory.
