Job summary

The Salvation Army Old Pasadena thrift store is seeking a Sales Associate/Material Handler to support a positive shopping experience through customer service, donation processing and basic POS duties.

Responsibilities include stocking, merchandise presentation, donation area upkeep, receipts, safety compliance, and teamwork. Flexible scheduling offered; full-time position based in Pasadena with standard store operations seven days a week.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Must pass background check (including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry).
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow staff, customers and donors.
• Must accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors warmly and provide courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items and merchandize on the sales floor.
• Maintain the store and donation area; perform cleaning duties as needed.
• Follow POS/Cash Register Policies and TSA procedures.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend monthly store meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately.
• Inspect products for defects and damages; provide QA checks.
