Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory in Billings, MT seeks a Thrift Store Manager to lead daily store operations, drive sales, and ensure excellent donor and customer experiences.

This full-time, non-exempt role reports to the Corps Officer, involves 40 hours weekly with overtime as needed, and pays $23 per hour. Responsibilities include setting goals, hiring and developing staff, monitoring production and sales, and maintaining quality standards and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Set and monitor production and sales goals; ensure the store operates efficiently.
• Hire, train, evaluate, coach, and, when necessary, recommend discipline or termination of staff in coordination with Corps leadership and HR.
• Assign daily tasks and monitor progress toward goals.
• Ensure quality control standards.
• Track productivity and sales levels and report progress to the Corps Officer.
• Oversee staff training, safety, customer service, merchandising, property maintenance, and public relations activities.
• Oversee opening and closing, daily deposits, complaints, promotions, and overall store appearance.

Reports to: Corps Officer

Schedule: 40 hours per week (Monday-Saturday, overtime as needed)

Supervises: Production and Sales Supervisors

Rate of Pay: $23/hour

Closing Date: 6/6/2026

Benefits: Standard; Full-Time, Non-Exempt employees are eligible for the following benefits:

• Vacation: 10 days per year, accrual rate of .0385 hours per hour worked (excluding overtime)

Requirements

• Driving
  • This position requires driving a Salvation Army vehicle from time to time.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age and possess a valid in-state Driver's License.

  • Ability to maneuver, remain in a stationary position, grasp, push, pull, reach overhead, lift up to 50 pounds, operate a computer, and understand written information.
