Job summary

The Salvation Army Thrift Store in Joplin, Missouri, is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for a full-time role (35–40 hours) with starting pay $16.50 per hour. The position oversees daily operations, sales, cashier duties, and staff coordination to ensure store coverage and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include supervising staff and volunteers, handling cash, maintaining order, and promoting store sales, with an emphasis on safety, confidentiality, and adherence to policies.

Qualifications

• High school/equivalent diploma and one-year related work experience or two years’ work experience without a diploma.
• Ability to comprehend written job descriptions, cleaning instructions and MSDS.
• Must be able to operate a cash register, make correct changes, and be bondable.

Responsibilities

• Interact with customers and staff to promote positive relationships.
• Sort donated items and price them for display.
• Place donated items on racks and shelves for display.
• Assist in loading/unloading the store’s truck and customers’ vehicles.
• Perform clerk/cashier duties and promote store sales.
• Assist in preparing monthly sales reports and maintain confidentiality.
