Job summary

Goodwill Industries of the Chesapeake is seeking an Assistant Store Manager for the Annapolis thrift location. This role supports store leadership, oversees daily operations, and serves as acting manager in the Store Manager’s absence.

Weekend availability is required, with flexible shifts including evenings and holidays. Ideal candidates have at least 1 year of supervisory retail experience, strong leadership, customer service, and merchandising skills, and a self‑starter mindset ready to grow

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• At least 1 year of supervisory experience in retail or a related environment.
• Strong people leadership, customer service, and merchandising skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
• Self‑starter mindset with flexibility to learn and grow.

Responsibilities

• Support the Store Manager in all aspects of store operations
• Supervise, train, schedule, and coach retail employees and volunteers
• Lead by example in delivering excellent customer and donor service
• Help achieve sales, production, and expense control goals
• Maintain a clean, safe, and well‑organized store environment
• Investigate and document accidents, injuries, and safety issues
• Oversee merchandising, inventory flow, and sales floor presentation
• Address customer concerns and promote Goodwill’s mission and values
• Assume store leadership responsibilities when the Store Manager is absent
