Job summary
NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking an experienced Threshold Engineer / Special Inspector to support our Florida operations from Tallahassee, FL or Panama City Beach. The role targets a Florida-licensed PE with strong field leadership and inspection experience for Threshold Buildings across Florida.
The successful candidate will oversee SIARs, review inspection documentation, conduct site visits, coordinate with Structural Engineers of Record and contractors, and provide signed/sealed
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Current and active Florida PE license in good standing.
- Experience in structural engineering and/or field inspection of large-scale buildings.
- Strong knowledge of structural systems including reinforced concrete, post-tensioned concrete, masonry, steel, foundations, precast.
- Ability to interpret drawings, shop drawings, RFIs and inspection plans.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the licensed Special Inspector of Threshold Buildings for assigned projects in Florida.
- Review structural drawings, submittals, RFIs and Special Inspection Plans.
- Perform site visits to verify construction aligns with documents and plans.
- Provide technical guidance to SIARs and oversee inspection personnel.
- Prepare, sign and seal Threshold Inspection reports, affidavits and final certifications.
- Coordinate with Structural Engineers of Record and project stakeholders.
- Assist with proposals, scopes, budgets and client coordination for Threshold/Special Inspection services.
