Job summary

NOVA Engineering & Environmental is seeking a Threshold Engineer / Special Inspector in Tallahassee or Panama City Beach, FL. The role focuses on providing engineering oversight and inspection for Threshold Buildings, with supervision of SIARs and coordination with engineers, contractors, owners, and officials.

The ideal candidate holds a Florida PE license, extensive structural inspection experience, and is prepared to travel across Florida to support projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Florida PE license in good standing.
• Experience with structural construction and inspection.
• Ability to interpret drawings, specs, RFIs, and inspection plans.
• Strong technical writing and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee Special Inspector Authorized Representatives (SIARs) and inspections.
• Review structural drawings, submittals, RFIs, and Special Inspection Plans.
• Perform site visits to verify construction per documents and plan.
• Prepare, review, sign, and seal Threshold Inspection docs.
• Coordinate with Structural Engineers of Record, contractors, owners and officials.
