TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC is seeking a Trend Detection Specialist to identify emerging threats and abuse patterns in the US market. You will translate field findings into scalable detection systems, collaborating with Engineering to automate detection and with Global teams to combat risks.

Role emphasizes deep platform understanding, balance between safety and freedom of expression, and proactive risk assessments within the US market. On‑site, with a focus on USDS policy outcomes.

Qualifications

• 3 years in Trust & Safety, Intelligence, or Content Policy with a focus on high‑harm issues.
• Technical ability to use LLMs or other AI/ML tools to build automated solutions for data classification or trend identification.
• Experience working with Product/Engineering teams to build, test, or iterate on automated detection systems or safety tools.
• Investigative mindset with ability to connect disparate data points into a cohesive narrative.

Responsibilities

• Lead comprehensive risk assessments and proactive trend detection for high‑risk USDS‑led events.
• Co‑design automated detection models targeting the U.S. market with Product teams.
• Build and deploy automated workflows using LLMs for scalable detection.
• Provide signal and training data to Product to keep detection systems ahead of adversaries.
• Identify secondary trends and evolving narratives in active US escalations.
• Generate data‑driven intelligence aligned with RFIs and quarterly priorities.
• Identify emerging slang and cultural shifts to predict evasion of safety filters.
• Map new patterns in high‑harm violations to broaden safety coverage.
• Synthesize data to justify new Product features or policy updates.
• Explain detection models and gaps to Policy teams.
