Meta Security is seeking Security Engineer Interns to work with cross-functional teams on threat modeling, detection engineering, and threat hunting. You will identify critical assets, assess top risks, and develop detection and response automation across production and corporate systems.

You’ll collaborate with Security Analysts, Software Engineers, and Offensive Security Engineers to implement scalable security solutions, leveraging large datasets and hyper-scale data pipelines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS or MS in CS or related field.
• Experience analyzing network and host-based security events.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP and related networking protocols.
• Strong OS knowledge (Windows, MacOS, Linux).
• Coding/scripting in one or more languages.
• Experience with attacker TTPs.
• Must have work authorization for country of employment.
• Experience in Detection & Response or similar security engineering role.
• Experience designing systems for external/insider threat responses.
• Experience building automations/integrations using SOIR platforms.
• Background in security-focused software engineering and large data pipelines.
• Experience in threat hunting using intelligence data.
• Familiarity with threat modeling frameworks (Diamond Model / MITRE ATT&CK).
• Experience with intelligence-driven threat hunting notebooks.
• Broad security domain knowledge with focus in one or more areas (logs/events processing, incident management, digital forensics, offensive security testing, detection/response tooling).
• Intent to return to full-time degree program after internship.

Responsabilités

• Develop detection and response automation across production and corporate systems.
• Collaborate with Security Analysts, Software Engineers and Offensive Security Engineers on large-scale data pipelines.
• Generate detection ideas and implementations leveraging large datasets and scalable pipelines.
